VODMATH: JEM Seminar on Vodcasting Mathematics
23-24 May 2008, University of Helsinki
Helsinki, Finland
The University of Helsinki is organizing a JEM seminar on vodcasting mathematics and in particular on video production for mathematical topics. Video media has traditionally been associated to television broadcasting and learning channels have been very popular in the past. Today, the internet offers new possibilities to create own channels and distribute learning materials to a very large audience. This seminar intends to familiarize the participants with software and techniques for the production of video broadcasts of mathematical topics. Issues like speeds of presentation, voice-over dialogs, formats and encodings, and tips and tricks from users will be the focus of discussions. The seminar is meant to be a practical working session during which participants produce a video lesson.
