JEM Training Camp School

The JEM Training Camp School is one of the main deliverables of the network and should be planned with care.

Decision to be taken include:

  • dates
  • format
  • target audience
  • speakers

The last business meeting in Barcelona could not reach any conclusion. One option was to have the school already in July. This is probably too soon now and we need to allow time for participants to make plans. Another option is to have an online-only event which we also could easily organize.

Please give some feedback.

JEM Workshop at ICME2008

The activities of the JEM network will be presented during the forthcoming ICME11, the International Congress on Mathematical Education, in its eleventh edition to be held in Monterrey, Mexico, July 6 - 13, 2008.

This event is expected to gather between 3000 and 4000 professionals from 100 countries in the mathematics education area, including researchers, educators and teachers.

The purpose of the eLearning Mathematics workshop is to give an overview of the current methods, content and services for online teaching of mathematics at the high school and at the undergraduate university levels. Expected contributions to the workshop include hands-on-sessions were participants will be able to experiment with various tools and content. The workshop is organized as an activity of the JEM Network (Joining Educational Mathematics, eContentPlus Thematic Network).

Proposals for hands-on/demo session at 3rd JEM workshop

We have scheduled a hands-on session of one hour during the upcoming 3rd JEM workshop. This is a great opportunity to get explanations and help from developers and designers of some of the best available software tools and services. I would like to collect here requests of demoes to other participants so that we can better organize and prepare this session and proposals of demoes.

From the JEM point of view, we will be available to explain all the latest features of the JEM portal.

JEM 3rd Workshop Early Registration

Early registration for the upcoming 3rd JEM Workshop and OpenMath Meeting ends tomorrow, 15 January 2008. To register, simply login to the JEM portal pages and signup for the event. If you are not a member of JEM, you will need to first create an account, and then you will be able to signup.

Planning the 4th JEM Workshop

The 4th JEM workshop will most likely take place as a satellite event to the conference organized by the Norwegian partners on MathML: 4th European Workshop on Mathematical and Scientific eContent. Dates have still to be planned, your comments and feedback are welcome.
