Computer generated exercises - Gauss algorithm (systems oflinear equations)

Computer generated exercises - Gauss algorithm (systems oflinear equations)

MuPAD based applet for Linear Algebra (Gauss algorithm, systems of linear equations).

Error-correcting codes

The course contains the materials delivered at the "Teoria de Codis" class of the Fall semestrer of 2008-2009 at the "Facultat de Matemàtiques i Estadística" of the "Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya".

Outline:

  1. Informal presentation: the digital era
  2. Introduction to block error-correcting codes
  3. Linear codes
  4. Finite fields
  5. Cyclic codes and the The Meggitt decoder
  6. Alternant codes (includes two decoding algorithms)
  7. Hadamard codes

Stokes theorem for mathematicians, physicists and engineers

This resource consists of a set of pdf files in English with the following index:

  1. Notations and conventions
  2. Integral calculus
  3. Maxwell's equations
  4. Mathematical underpinnings

Diagnostic Test for Freshmen Mathematics Students (2n version)

The test is a set of Maple TA (version 2.5.1) questions, grouped in four levels, that cover the mathematical curriculum of secondary schools in Catalonia.

In this version a physics bank has been included, covering the secondary education physics curricula, which can be added to the mathematics questions for diagnosing freshmen in engineering.

  • Level 1 has 9 questions about basic general knowledge (such as the Pithagoras theorem).
  • Level 2 has 21 questions whose answer is a quick computation.
  • Level 3 has 20 questions of medium difficulty and of a more theoretical nature.

Introduction to MathML-in-DAISY in 10 Small Chapters

daisylogo-mathml

The document is a short Introduction of MathML and its use within DAISY books. It is meant to be a starter with further references and aims to address primarily teachers, students, publishers and software and service developers. Given the subject, it is of somewhat technical nature, but should be understandable by the general audience.

The document is available as DAISY book (as a XML file without audio content).

Meetkunde (Geometry)

A set of lecture notes for a course on Geometry for high school teachers.
The notes, written in Dutch, cover various topics in classical
geometry, which are related to the geometry that is tought at dutch high schools.

The notes contain many interactive pictures (Geogebra applets).

Java Laboratory for differential curves

Java laboratory of curves

This laboratory is designed to experiment and visualize the elemental concepts of differential geometry of curves in the plane or the space.
It is possible to use it in:
http://www.mat.uned.es/GeoCM/2PP/lab_curvas/_apps/matematica3d_20.app/ma...
(please be patient, some times our server is slow)
With this laboratory it possible to visualize the Frenet frame, osculatrix circle, evolute, osculatrix plane, ... and to compute curvature, torsion, arc length, ... of differential curves and to see nice animations.

Wortel TU/e , Math Learning Environment

Wortel TU/e is the Math Learnig Environment for the Eindhoven University of Technology.

It contains many highly interactive theory pages and automatically graded exercises on topics ranging
from basic arithmetic to calculus, linear algebra and abstract algebra at university level.

Wortel TU/e is a moodle LMS in which the MathDox Exercise System is incorporated.

You can register for free.

Wortel TU/e lecture notes on basic math for university students

We present a set of lecture notes covering the basic mathematics that students at the Eindhoven University of Technology have to know.

These lecture notes are available in pdf form for printing, and as webpages (XML, html) containing various applets for interaction.

This is work in progress!
