From 1st July 2007-1st Jan 2008 Dr Sangwin was away from the University on study leave.
On 8th November Dr Sangwin gave a talk at RMIT, Melbourne at the invitation of Prof. Bill Blyth.
On 9th November Dr Sangwin visited University of Melbourne (School of Mathematics) and University of Melbourne (School of Engineering) separately to talk about computer aided assessment and the work of the MSOR Network. We also discussed developments in the UK such as the MAGIC use of access grid and those in Europe, such as JEM.
On 9th November Dr Sangwin visited the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institue (AMSI) to talk about computer aided assessment and the work of the MSOR Network.
On 20th November Dr Sangwin attended the Mathematical Association of South Australia (MASA) (equivalent of the MA) dinner and made useful contacts with a number of interesting school teachers.
On 21st November Dr Sangwin visited the University of Adelaide to talk with Prof. Geoff Crisp (head of e-learning) about the MSOR Network. He recently visited Eddie Gulc and is well aware of the work of the HEA. He
introduced my seminar in the mathematics department on CAA and also showed me around their mathematics support
centre.
From 26-30th November inc. Dr Sangwin attended the sixth Southern Hemisphere Conference on Undergraduate Mathematics and Statistics Teaching and Learning (DELTA). I gave a contributed paper on CAA. This is a group of HE mathematicians who are interested in learning and teaching in HE. http://jem-thematic.net/node/528
