Our aim is to design and build several simulations in the EJS (Easy Java Simulation) environement. With such simultions the student is able to observe mathematical objects and properties that are important for their academic formation.
A laboratory or a simulation may not substitute the necessary intellectual process that must internalize the student, but can be the starting point for the visualization. For visualization here we mean not only the geometrical meaning but some abstract images that help either in the understanding of a mathematical concept or in solving some problem or challenge.
To build a set of activities of visual simulations in different areas of mathematics is our objective and we present here two concrete cases:
1. A laboratory of plane and space curves,
2. A laboratory for real functions.
The simulations must be used following a tutorial usual for this task in our University (UNED). The ultimate evaluation of the use of this type of matherial is based in thought or reflection on several situations proposed from the teachers.
