This talk will be devoted to the first vision of implementing a distributed database (OMBase) for OMDoc which is a format for representing the mathematical knowledge. We will cover such topics
as efficiency, distributivity, versioning, enhancement of collaboration between mathematicians and some
mathematical-specific issues. The future database is planning to use a symbiosis of Berkeley DB XML and Subversion as a backend. Also the possible clients for OMBase will be discussed.
