It is the second day of the virtual conference eUniverSALearning where JEM has its annual progress report. The entry page for the virtual space does not really work for me, but there is a way to access the moodle area setup for the conference. I am not so sure this setup will be very efficient. As a coincidence, I was asked today about another virtual conference I have attended, CISSE. The organization was rather different: the actual conference was held synchronously using a platform for conference call called iVocalize, which later Mika adopted for his online teaching. The talk we delivered Sat, Dec 09, 16:30 GMT for CISSE2006 was given from Minneapolis, while we were actually attending the IMA hot topic workshop The Evolution of Mathematical Communication in the Age of Digital Libraries: this is how you can be in two places at the same time. But now, I am in the JEM office in Second Life waiting for other participants to the eUniverSALearning conference. I will hand-out our JEM t-shirts to those who will visit, show them our slides, and be able to talk to them.
