OpenMath is not dead, it is just sleepy
We hear often how the OpenMath web site needs a face lift. The new "Web Officer" for OpenMath is Paul Libbrecht, so please send all suggestions and offers to help to him.
The OpenMath Society is also making an effort to increase the number of its members. The Statute currently states that The purpose of the Society is to promote the development of all aspects of the use of information technology in mathematics, with particular emphasis on the presentation and application of mathematics in computer networks. In particular, the Society will, at an international level, aim to promote the technology required for mathematical research (pure and applied), teaching, and the use of mathematics in general. The current criteria for eligibility request
- having taken part in at least three official workshops
- having worked full time for OpenMath for at least three months.
If you qualify, you can ask to become a member of the Society (current fee is 0Eur) just by sending an email to the President of the OpenMath Society Michael Kohlhase.

would love discussion!
I would like to second the request for proposal and discussion!
I am not sure I am willing to jump to a community platform because of the very high risk to spamming (which I cannot be avoiding since human spammers do exist and will keep so).
But there could be a large amount of web-sources which we should relay into the OpenMath web-site, à la façon RSS syndication, which would show plenty of active life!
For example... where should such a blog entry be posted within the OpenMath website ?

About cms platforms
Paul,
yes spamming is a problem but one could think of a very limited set of posters (members of the OM society) and yes do aggregation etc. I would love to see more feeds into the old pages (try OpenMath on technorati.com). "Planet OpenMath" could collect feeds of personal blogs. Bugzilla or such for problems with CDs etc...
Let's wake it up!
I am happy to see that OM is waking up. I spent some months really worried about its health!!
We must try to keep it in good shape.
