The first few talks, that I have attended today at the International Conference on Web-based learning 2009, have been about metadata. Erik Duval gave first a powerful keynote talk, and several session speakers have continued on that. We need perhaps some sort of metadata of metadata etc. We already have repositories of repositories, which Duval is promoting.

The new version of the Learning Repository setup now has the capability of importing records into the repository.

The LOM Import module is provided separately, the Learning Repository will run also without.

I am considering what to do with publishing JEM content on the portal, whether to add our WALTER repository or to adopt and customize the current platform, Drupal - more in line with Web 2.0 technologies. In trying to clarify a strategy, I found some very similar doubts posted by D'Arcy Norman- one of the developers of the CAREO repository.
