Quality issues regarding Accessibility
Access to Mathematics have always been particularly difficult for visually impaired people. Since 20 years the development of personal computers and alternative devices allows the development of software tools to support them doing Maths. In this talk we will describe how visually impaired people access to mathematical content and to computer interfaces and we will give an overview of the state of the art.
We will see the constraints in terms of accessibility and how visually impaired can benefit from online mathematical content. Finally we will bring up the current trend for accessibility in Northern countries and its outcome in laws and regulations.
A more extensive State of the Art paper can be found on Upgrade April 207 issue.
