<p>The aim of the symposium is to bring together content providers, developers, teachers and educational researchers to discuss and share the best practices of the ongoing research, applications and projects on web-based interactive mathematics.</p>
<p>The symposium focuses on the didactics and technologies related to web-based interactive mathematical exercise systems. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:</p>
<ul>
<li> Mathematical tutoring tools </li>
<li> Intelligent Feedback in Exercises </li>
<li> Software development standards </li>
<li> User studies </li>
</ul>
<p>The symposium wants to bring together experts in technologies, mathematics and science education, practitioners and providers of tools and content.</p>

<p>The 4th JEM workshop will be organized to disseminate the technologies and activities of members of the network. It will create the opportunity to experience, with guided activities, the latest developments in software and tools that improve the way mathematics can be communicated and taught online. Within the JEM community, there is a wealth of experience in preparing interactive lecturing material, in developing and programming with mathematical software and in delivering mathematical lectures using a variety of learning environments. This training day offer you the possibility to actively organize a session with people who share the same interests as you do and are interested in learning about your way of using the technologies. </p>

<h3>Call for proposals (closed)</h3>
<p>Proposals for hands-on tutorial sessions should contain a brief description of the activities, specific requirements (laptop with internet, with CDROM) and clearly indicate prerequisites and intended outcome for the participants.<br />
<em>Submit your tutorial proposal by (registering,) logging in, and creating a new <a href="add/diss-item">Dissemination item</a>. You should enter under "Publication details" the following: JEM Training Day - Trondheim</em>. </p>
<p>The JEM Steering Committee will evaluate the proposals and arrange the final program schedule.</p>
<h4> Registration </h4>
<p>The JEM Training Day is free for those registered with the <a href="http://www.ntnu.no/delta/workshop/">4th European Workshop on Mathematical &amp; Scientific e-Contents</a> while it costs 200 NOK (about 25 Eur) for other participants.<br />
Use <a href="http://www.ntnu.no/delta/workshop/registration.php" title="http://www.ntnu.no/delta/workshop/registration.php">http://www.ntnu.no/delta/workshop/registration.php</a> to select what applies to you and which tutorials to attend.</p>

<h4> Planned Tutorials </h4>
<p>These are the tutorials that can be scheduled during the JEM Training Day. Depending on attendance, we will schedule the tutorials in order to accomodate most participants. We expect to run 2 or 3 parallel sessions.</p>
