Few days after the longed release of the SDK for the I-devices, comes the announcement of the intention to develop a Flash Player by Adobe. Good news for the users interested in educational media.

From Garage Calculus to Calculus Movies
I have earlier reported in this blog about using GrageBand, a component of Apple’s iLife 08, to produce Calculus Podcasts. While GarageBand allows the convenient editing of the soundtrack, the quality of graphics that GarageBand supports, is not good enough for Calculus Podcasts.

Rereading NYT Magazine, Nov. 6, 2000: Tech 2010, A Catalogue of the Near Future
The secret of technology's appeal lies in the palm of your hands. This was the subtitle of the editorial article of the New York Times magazine published on November 6, 2000. The magazine carried the title Tech 2010, A Catalog of the Near Future.
I saved the magazine because I thought that it will be interesting to read it in 2010. It is interesting reading already today. And surprisingly accurate.
The computers have always been getting smaller, and, the fact that “small things are big things,” as stated in a Helsinki City Park, was evident in the magazine’s articles.

Math Quizzes using iPods and iPhones
On Monday I made an experiment with my new iPod Touch. I took a WebALT calculus quiz using my iPod. Results were extraordinary: I failed the quiz, but was amazed of the features of the web browser in an iPod Touch (http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/). iPod has the same browsing functionalities as the iPhone, so the following comments apply also to iPhones.
