JEM Post-Mortem
The JEM Network was active for three years: from August 2006 to August 2009. The Network organized 19 workshops, seminars and schools during three years: about one event every two months. The purpose of the network was to advance the use of information technology in education with a special focus in mathematics. These meetings have certainly contributed to that goal.
The most important contribution of the network is, however, the website created to organize the activities of the network. The website offers tools that allow members to use their own personal profile pages as professional home pages. These profile pages keep track of the contributions of the persons, and hence provide automatically relevant immediate information. This website will remain fully functional and supported by University of Helsinki. The network is dead, long live the website.
