Combined Proceedings of both the 5th and the 6th JEM Workshop will be published by Editore Liguori. All participants of the workshops are invited to contribute to the proceedings. Even if you did not give a talk, you are invited to submit to the proceedings.

Mathematics instruction is evolving thanks to the opportunities offered by technology. On one hand instructors can use information technology to support traditional education in various ways. On the other hand, the curriculum has, in many places, evolved so that pupils are taught to use calculators in routine computations to the extent that the standard multiplication or division algorithms are not discussed anymore. These curriculum revisions are controversial.

The proceedings will focus on these curriculum changes, that are currently taking place, and on the various ways technology can support traditional instruction.
