I am using the virtual classrooms of iVocalize to teach the basic online calculus course this semester. iVocalize allows me to broadcast a PowerPoint presentation, browse the web with the students, and share a whiteboard on which everybody can write.

It is the second day of the virtual conference eUniverSALearning where JEM has its annual progress report. The entry page for the virtual space does not really work for me, but there is a way to access the moodle area setup for the conference. I am not so sure this setup will be very efficient. As a coincidence, I was asked today about another virtual conference I have attended, CISSE.

I am in charge of a virtual calculus course that started earlier this week. The course is offered at the University of Helsinki. The course is intended for non math majors, but math majors may also include the course in their studies. This is already the fifth time the course is offered online. The technology used in the course is improving, and hence, in a way, this is a new release of the course. Hence the experiences that we will have may be of some interest.
