Free Online Session - High Speed Multiplication through Vedic Mathematics

vc_mainimg.gif I read in today's headlines, that on Saturday, 19 January, 2008 5:00 PM To 7:00 PM (GMT+05:30, New Delhi time, that is a lunchtime date 11:30-13:30 GMT), one can attend a free online session - High Speed Multiplication through Vedic Mathematics - The website says: The session makes an attempt to explain the unconventional aspects of the methods to help you understand and implement the concepts for an improved mathematical thinking. ...The forum has been helping students achieve their target scores in examinations such as SAT and GMAT and has a regular student base in Unites States and the United Kingdom. The forum aims to realize the hidden potential of a students and develop their mental faculties whereby eliminating the fear of Mathematics completely. This sounds quite interesting and new to me, I must mark it in my calendar.

From the same source, another seminar on Monday, 28 January, 2008 2:00-5:00 PM (GMT-08:00, that is night-time 10:00PM-01:00AM GMT) demonstrates WiZiQ, a free virtual classroom platform that where teachers can sign-up for free, set up sessions with one student or a group and deliver an online class with audio and video capabilities. The website says that it works in Flash format and supports a whiteboard with Math tools. It is too bad that the the online demo crashed my Firefox so I could not experiment with it. My impression is that WiZiQ is a mix of Slideshare and Flashmeeting.
